WHAT IS GLUCOSAMINE?
Glucosamine is a natural component of joint cartilage and synovial fluid and has a significant influence on the healthy function of the joints. It helps to build up and supply connective tissue, tendons, cartilage, joint capsules and synovial fluid. Healthy cartilage ensures that the joint surfaces can rub against each other without pain during movement and helps to absorb hard impacts as a buffer. The glucosamine in our capsules is obtained from the raw material chitin, the shell of crustaceans.
Note: When buying, pay attention to which glucosamine the capsules contain. There are 2 different, commercially available raw materials, glucosamine HCL and glucosamine sulphate. Almost all studies on the effectiveness of glucosamine have been done with the sulphate. In contrast, there is hardly any evidence for the effectiveness of the cheaper HCL. Therefore, make sure that your product only contains glucosamine sulphate.
WHAT IS CHONDROITIN?
Chondroitin is also an endogenous component of joint cartilage and gives it elasticity and shock-absorbing properties, as well as increasing nutrient permeability. The combination of the nutrients glucosamine and chondroitin has proven to be particularly effective.
Note: Pay attention to the chondroitin content. In practice, a daily dosage of 1200 mg has proven to be ideal. However, many products contain significantly less chondroitin, as this raw material is very expensive. The origin is also important. Our chondroitin comes from cattle and does not contain any ingredients from pigs.
WHAT IS MSM?
MSM is an organic sulphur compound that is essential for the human body. Methylsulfonylmethane, also known as dimethylsulphone, occurs naturally in our bodies, as well as in plants and animals. Sulphur plays many important roles and is essential for numerous metabolic processes.
Note: With MSM it is important to pay attention to the purity. The MSM we use has a purity of over 99.9%.
