Curcuma & Boswellia
With this capsule combination, two highly effective ingredients that have long been valued in traditional folk medicine for their anti-inflammatory properties come together. Treat yourself and your body daily by relying on the healing power of turmeric and frankincense.
Turmeric - More Than Just a Simple Spice
Turmeric, also known as yellow root, is familiar to many as an ingredient in many curry spice blends in Indian cuisine. It not only adds flavor but also imparts the characteristic yellow-orange color. Apart from culinary use, turmeric has been used as a remedy for various ailments in Ayurvedic medicine for over 5000 years. In Indonesia, for example, the anti-inflammatory effect of the colorful tuber and the contained curcumin is valued in the traditional drink "Jamu".
Many nutritionists recommend consuming turmeric regularly, whether in cooking Asian dishes, as part of smoothies, teas, or the popular "Golden Milk". For those who do not like the sharp-bitter taste of turmeric or find it challenging to incorporate this valuable ingredient into their daily diet, capsules offer a convenient alternative. Since curcumin is fat-soluble and is better absorbed by the body in conjunction with pepper or the contained piperine, we recommend taking it with a meal.
Frankincense: A Treasure of History
Frankincense is familiar to many, especially from the Bible, where the three wise men brought frankincense as a royal gift to the infant Jesus. Today, frankincense is still burned in religious ceremonies, releasing its aromatic essential oil. However, the history of this precious extract extends far beyond Christian tradition. In Egypt, stone tablets depicting kings with frankincense censers were discovered during excavations. In ancient Rome, about 3000 tons of the noble resin were traded annually, and frankincense was so highly valued that it was weighed against gold.
Frankincense: A Valuable Plant Extract with Powerful Effects
Frankincense is a pure natural product obtained from the resin of trees belonging to the Boswellia genus. These shrub-like plants are native to the dry zones of Oman, Yemen, as well as parts of Africa and India. To obtain the precious resin, the trees are incised, allowing up to 10 liters of raw material to be obtained per tree, which is then dried or ground. The raw material is used in essential oils and fragrances and is still commonly used for burning in sacred places and homes.
However, frankincense also holds a firm place in various folk medicine applications and is processed into ointments, among other things, to support better wound healing. According to current knowledge, frankincense contains around 200 ingredients, and the wound-healing effect is attributed to the boswellic acids, which are considered anti-inflammatory.
The frankincense extract for our capsules comes from carefully selected producers in India, where it is processed gently and standardized to a boswellic acid content of 65 percent. This makes Surpresa Natural capsules particularly concentrated. As with all dietary supplements, we recommend regular and continuous intake of our capsules to ensure that you achieve the best possible effect.
