Rhodiola Rosea Capsules

Rhodiola rosea, also known as roseroot, is a plant traditionally used in the mountain and polar regions of Europe, Asia and North America. It has been used for over 2,000 years in Chinese, Tibetan and Russian-Scandinavian folk traditions – documented as early as 77 AD by the Greek physician Dioscorides. The name derives from the Greek “rhodon” (rose) – because the root has a rose-like scent.

Adaptogens are a rare category of plant compounds – only a few plants worldwide are considered adaptogenic. Rhodiola rosea belongs to this category. In herbal traditions, adaptogens are traditionally used as plants intended to support the body in coping better with everyday demands. Other well-known adaptogens include ginseng and ashwagandha.

Rosavins are the characteristic plant compounds of Rhodiola rosea (rosin, rosarin, rosavin) – they occur only in this one Rhodiola species (out of around 200 species worldwide). The quality of Rhodiola products varies greatly because the active compound content depends on the root. Our extract is standardised to 3% rosavins – this guarantees a consistently high concentration in every capsule.

You will find the recommended intake on the tin. Rhodiola is traditionally taken in the morning or at midday – not too late in the day, as the plant compounds can have a stimulating effect.
