What is Shilajit?

Shilajit (also known as Mumijo) is a unique natural substance from the high mountains of Asia – a resin-like, humus-like material that formed over thousands of years from more than 6,500 different plants under the pressure of the mountain massifs. It is popularly known as the “Tears of the Himalayas” or “Oil of the Mountains”. In Tibetan medicine and Ayurveda, Shilajit has been traditionally used for over 3,000 years.

What do 50% fulvic acid and 12% humic acid mean?

Fulvic acid and humic acid are the characteristic constituents of Shilajit. Our capsules are standardized to at least 50% fulvic acid and around 12% humic acid – significantly higher than many cheaper competing products, which often contain only 10–20% fulvic acid. Since Shilajit is a natural product, depending on the batch the values may even be higher. When buying Shilajit, always look for the standardized content.

Where does Shilajit come from?

Shilajit is found exclusively in the high mountains of Central Asia – in the Himalayas, the Altai Mountains and some mountain regions of southern Kazakhstan. It can neither be cultivated nor produced industrially. In summer it melts out of the rocks and is harvested by experienced collectors at specific altitudes. This makes Shilajit a rare and precious natural product.

How do you take Shilajit?
